The Frilly Chartreuse Light
The Frilly Chartreuse Light
In Stock
We are very excited to introduce our chartreuse glass pendant, such a pretty companion for our cranberry one, still swinging from a brown cotton twisted cord with a simple aged brass ceiling rose. These delicate, frilly, coloured glass pendants look very vintage and add a unique atmosphere to a room, something we are always striving to achieve in our interiors.
The cranberry pendant was a tricky colour to get right, so we imagined adding another colour to the range would be much simpler, but finding the perfect green was not easy. Chartreuse is a very special kind of green, even the name sounds rather chic and very French!
Our handcrafted frilly glass lights are individually fired over a steel former. Each light is a bit different, particularly the Grand shades, which can have slightly irregular pleats as some droop a little more than others, resulting in a naturally organic form.
This light includes:
- a chartreuse glass shade
- an antiqued brass E27 lampholder
- a matching brass ceiling rose with screws
- 3m of brown twisted flex cord
- a dimmable LED filament bulb

Care & Maintenance
Metal finishes on the lampholder and rose should only be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth. Harsh cleaners and abrasive pads will damage and remove the finish. Always switch off the mains power before cleaning the fittings.
Always remove the glass shade before cleaning - taking care not to lose the shade ring. The shade can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth or sponge. Abrasive pads could scratch or dull the surface finish.
Spare/replacement parts are available for this light, please contact our customer service team if needed.

These frilly lights are the first glass lights we've ever made and we learnt so much along the way. Helen and our product designers, Matt and Dan, worked tirelessly with a local glass artist to make these beautiful pendants, from designing the delicate frilly pleats to creating the exact shade of cranberry, chartreuse or amber that Helen had imagined. It certainly has been a labour of love, but so worth it to be able to offer a truly special glass light.
The making of these glass shades is a handmade process where the ingredients are mixed and then heated in a furnace for hours until the glass is in a molten state; at this stage, the molten glass is rolled into individual flat sheets by hand. The result is a very thin piece of glass that has a lot of interesting texture and it allows us to achieve an intricate pleated shape. A circle is cut by hand from the glass sheet and then the frilly shape is formed in a kiln as the glass softens and slumps down over a handmade steel mould. We're so excited by the way they have turned out and we can't wait to see them hanging above a table or giving an atmospheric light to a little corner.
